My username, LPCWSTR, is in reference to a Win32 C typedef, a Long Pointer to a Constant Wide STRing. Working backwards, a string in programming is a piece of text, a wide string contains UTF-16- or UTF-32-encoded characters (depending on implementation) and a constant one of those can't be changed at runtime. A pointer references a specific portion of the memory, and a long pointer is a pointer which can access all of the memory (although there's a bit more to it).
