yeah, #16 is pretty much true. The site went downhill after they gave out tons of cash to developers and had to support it up with ads. they don't have the time, money, or willpower to keep the servers up so they're going to let it rot.

You know, "letting it rot" costs more money than just cutting it. If I didn't care about something and it cost me money every month, and all I had to do was shut down some servers and suffer a little bit of hatemail from some angsty teens (if they actually knew how to contact me) then I'd sure as shit shut the servers down.

So obviously the people paying for the site care.

I'd have to imagine that it's been prepaid for in advance.
