Yes, the Starland gods have spoken. Orb of Ice's quest to get 5794 with some magical secret method is causing the game to slowly disappear again. Nobody has played the game in the last week, the proof is here:
http://nonoba.com/wmarsh/starland-multiplayer-td#scores/score40/toplastweek/0
If the Starland gods are not slowly killing it... perhaps, someone in charge could make a similiar posting to keep us informed, such as, this one that was posted "a long time ago":
http://nonoba.com/news/unexpected-downtime-of-service
But I tend to think that not being able to play Starland is the root cause of what the Mayans predicted for 2012.
Happy New Year! Let's party like it's 2012!

4 meses atrás | Texto #23Wow! Seems there was a time when nonoba.com mattered to those individuals who realized a dream when they gave nonoba life.
Now ... with the exception of the occasional rude/power-trippin' post and/or thread locking executed by so-called "mods", this once-filled-with-potential gaming community, and its tens of thousands of loyal members, concerned members, are left to rationalize their own reasoning for why this is happening and why nobody at nonoba will take 10 minutes out of their day to confirm or dispel rumors with a simple post to the forums. Mods? You are closer to the source than any of us. Can't one of you encourage the posting of a simple statement? Even if you know what's going on, write the statement yourself and see if you can get approval to post it. You'd be our hero if you did. Nothing fancy. It could be as simple as, "Nonoba.com expects to be back up and fully-operational by (date)". I can't help but think that in doing so, it would make your jobs a lot easier too! :D

Day 45 and the Great 2011 Thanksgiving Outage continues to still linger on and on. Like the eye of a storm (if only it was), a few of us were able to see Starland for a few hours a day around Christmas but that's been over seven days ago.
Our numbers are shrinking and there are only a few of us left, 3506 to be exact, that continue to look for signs of what is going on and answers to when or if this will ever end.
Cut off from Starland and our home world of Nonoba, our comments, thoughts and questions continue to search for a place to be posted where they will be found by our loved ones. It seems that over half of all current forum threads (13 of 24) have been moved, locked or deleted cutting off these modern chat rooms we now must rely upon more and more... with each new thread locked our hopes are crushed by some unforeseen force.
A force that pushes our morale even lower in tandem with our oxygen supply. Those of us still here have been searching for answers all this time and have found none until today. But will it be enough to keep us from drifting away from Starland and finding another home planet full of wondrous games and chat rooms?
I must continue to steer this ship towards that faint beacon of hope praying that the Starland gods will hear and answer our prayers.
The only sign I have found that you, me and that other person over there (that is really starting to annoy me) aren't the only ones here is at the bottom of this page:
Copyright ©2007-2012 Nonoba™ - All rights reserved.
That ought to hold me over until the King's birthday, Elvis or Martin, but I fear a post on the main page, the latest news page or on Chris's profile page is the only thing that will cool our jets down and get us fired up to play Starland again.

On the bright side, there is much fun to be had by reading the comments on Chris' profile page!
Please know that in no way do I condone public bludgeoning but god damnit humans are funny!
errr ... gosh darnit*
BTW how much time, if any, have you been spending on OMGPOP? OMG! It's the funnnnnnnnest! It's 100% multiplayer. You can bet on your games! Not real cash of course (for that would be illegal) but for gold coins. Gold coins are used for decorating your pro pic, buying game upgrades and, well, betting!
And talk about a nice bunch o peeps! I dont know where they found em but this is the nicest member base I've ever encountered. Speak one nice or humorous word during gameplay and "ding ding" everyone is asking to be your friend! When you log on first thing you see is a list of exactly where your friends are and a "join" option next to each one. One click and it's, "Liz! (or Goooo!)"
It's a happy place. It was voted one of Time magazine's "Best 50 sites of 2009". And if that werent enough .... OMGPOP and all of its delightful features, including game-specific chat, are up and running 24/7/366 (it's a leap year)!
It's someplace to go to take your mind off things like the economy, unemployment and Starland!

Nobody has ever reached the end! Oh the comaraderie! Oh my clicking finger! That is some intense poopy right there ... but oh soooo fun!
But if you play, never ever ever hit the nuke button ... that's a no-no ...the nuke button is for wimps and thieves and you just might find yourself ejected ... though the room host will likely warn you first. I know I do!

Day 50 and the Great 2011 Thanksgiving Outage continues to still linger on and on.
The search for more signs of life and clues for what really is going on is getting more depressing.
Starland has finally drifted off of the top 9 most popular games for the month on Nonoba.
Soon the top scores from the last month will disappear. Hard to believe that there were only 144 people lucky enough to have played this game in the few hours that Starland was operational each day between Christmas and New Year's Eve. Even a few hours a day was better than this Thanksgiving bread that is stale and growing mold.

Day 56 of the Great 2011 Thanksgiving Outage continues to still linger on and on.
The search for Starland in the "find users and games" box at the top of this page yielded a "[
http://i43.tinypic.com/25hzu6g.jpg server error]" message I had not ever seen occur with multiple tries until today.
Yes, the conspiracy theory is taking shape and it appears that more of Nonoba is disappearing to prevent higher scores and the discovery of Starland and all that it offers before it's too late.
And Orb of Ice, a lover of the Brits, also known as O.O.I., aka 001, was given an arduous task in his quest for 5794 and cut corners (thereby angering the Starland gods)... and as most of you should know, "Double 0s have a very short-life expectancy."

Day 58... the truth has been spoken. It is hearsay at this point as it could just be the start of a rumor full of unsubstantiated facts but if you truly want to know the truth... think about it.
What do you think is going on?
Dig deeper. No, don't be silly. Keep it simple.
That's right.
Maybe I could verify the unspoken truth with some facts. I present to you the facts:
1) Day 58
Enough said.
To all Starlanders... keep the faith... the game will return or start anew.

Day 70... and the recent scores of when Starland was up are gone again.
Were you one of the lucky 50 people to play the game in the few hours it was up for two days in a row?
Ever wonder how and why the game basically never works now? Have you noticed that the last time Chris logged in was eight days ago? Coincidence?
It's time to read Dianetics by L.Ron Hubbard and watch a cheesy flick with John Travolta.
Don't jump to conclusions though... but I'd bet it's safe to say that if the games are not working and Chris has not logged in... they won't be fixed until he's logged in... but that doesn't mean they will be.
